Jamaican Fried Dumplings 🇯🇲

These fried dumplings are soft, sweet, fluffy and so delicious!! You really can’t go wrong with this recipe.

2 cups flour
2 tbsp sugar( granulated)
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 to 1 tsp salt
1 cup milk or water
2 tbsp butter ( optional )
Oil for frying


In a mixing bowl, combine the flour,
salt, baking powder and sugar, mix it well.

Pour in some water / milk at regular intervals to form dough. Do not make the dough too wet.

Keep kneading the dough to render it softer and smoother.
Leave it to rest for 30 minutes

Roll out 8-10 small sized dough balls out of it.

Heat some oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

Once the oil is hot enough to fry, put these dumplings in the oil and fry them.

Flip them over to fry from both the sides.

Dumplings should look light, fluffy and golden after being fried.

Drain on absorbent paper towel.

Serve hot.
